It’s getting late and tomorrow we have to hit the studio running. It was a glorious day today in CNY. I missed almost all of it. It was a writing and recording day (and night.) I did watch the sun come up this morning. It was beautiful. And it’s warm out here at the lake. Scary warm. It’s not supposed to feel like Spring here in mid-winter times. We should be skiing.

Today I spent the better part of the morning (and on into the afternoon) with my genius friend, Bruce Coville. We’re writing a Rock Opera with Bob Christianson. Noble work with some powerfully talented gentlemen. I love working across the table from Mr. Coville. In his study, we are surrounded by his books. Some of the biggest-selling books ever. The Unicorn Chronicles, My Teacher’s an Alien series… this morning I perused the covers of some of my faves. Jennifer Murdley’s Toad, Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher. There’s, like, a buzzillion of them. It would be intimidating if not for the jovial demeanor of my host. He is so creative that the energy surrounding us is infectious. In addition to this HUGE Broadway project, Bruce is co-writing songs with Brett and me for the soundtrack album of The Artist & the Astronaut. Wait until you hear it. I’m guessing we’re still a few weeks out from the release.

This afternoon (and into the evening) Brett and I were in the studio laying down vocals for that soundtrack album. We’ll keep you posted on that project. It’s kind of a big deal, given that the movie is FINALLY STREAMING!!!!
