I am finally back home at the Lakehouse. It doesn’t feel like the first day of Spring, but it is. Quite a bit of snow fell on us, shortly after arriving. It’s been a monstrously busy couple of weeks and I need to focus all of my energy on getting back into the groove. Lots of work to do with our film. You’d think that once it’s “a wrap” you could slow down a bit. But no, now come the screenings, promo, and ginning up interest in our already award winning film. Honest, we’re thrilled and a little surprised, and very happy to being doing the work. As daunting as it can feel.

Studio work has not let up. We’re deep into production on a number of projects and getting ready to embark on some really fascinating album projects that start in earnest next month. Hmmm…. I sorta have my hands in a little too much work - for a man my age. And lest not we forget, I have a book to finish illustrating. I will fill you in when I have a moment or two.

For now, let me say that the last days of the Omaha Film Festival were filled with great films, discussions, and my favorite, the seminar we took part in for high school filmmakers. It was as exhilarating for those of us in the film business as it was for the attendees.

So much has happened - so much is coming - and way too much to do to catch up on all the goings on.

Tomorrow I will be back on campus at Le Moyne. We will all be in shock after Spring Break. It is sobering to realize that the semester is half over and we have a recital to prepare for. Lots of concerts too. Working with students is fun, but more important, it gives me so much faith in the future.

The next adventure for our film is a screening in Little Falls, NY. The Daneli Partners are sponsoring it.

One more thing before I dive back into my oppressive workload.

It was a long time ago, but I remember it well. I don’t always get the date or the location right. After all, I’ve played over 3,000 concerts and I am a senior citizen. Look at these young lads. It must have been at some kind of formal event? I dunno. But, here we are, as we were. How we will never be again.

THB B’ville 1976

The caption says B’ville 1976. Yikes. Odd, many years later, many of my children will attend this very school.

I miss playing. I miss all of the folks who remember these young guys. Every day I promise myself that I will be back. Someday, I will play again.
