Today is Briana’s Birthday. I’m not going to share her age. All of my daughters and sons are “adults.” Enough said. I’m a so proud of all of them, and all of their wonderful kids. When I get too busy, like I am of late, writing about the work or my tribe comes after the work is done and I’ve had a little time to reach out to these wonderful humans in my family.
Now that the semester is over, I am focusing my attention on my music and my art. AND I will try to catch up on my blog and social media. There is so much to convey.
Letizia and I enjoyed a wonderful concert experience at the Steeple Coffee House Saturday night. A full house greeted us. The smiling friendly faces made the music all the sweeter. The people who have been putting on this series at the United Church of Fayetteville could not have been more welcoming. (A big shout out to John and Janet Price.) I am pleased to say that we helped raise funds for the church’s community outreach programs. Good vibes all the way around. If I get a chance I will share any photos and videos that pop up. I hope somebody got a shot of Dave Novak who introduced us and had some sweet words to share about Israel Hagan, who we replaced on the series.
This coming Saturday night we are taking the band to the beach! We’ll be at full strength with the boys in the band at Harpoon Eddie’s on Sylvan Beach. We start at 6:00 PM. Don’t worry, we’ll wrap it up by 10:00, which is my normal bedtime. Just sayin’.
The studio is very busy. We are putting the finishing touches on Greg Hoover’s next album. Brett is working diligently on so many projects it’s getting hard to list them all. As they pop, I will keep you posted.
The lake is teaming with new life. I photographed a majestic Grey Heron this morning on our beach. Well, actually the beach is under water. The long legged giant bird is seeking out his breakfast on our lawn. All the native birds are returning from their Southern “vacations.” There is a lone male duck waddling all around the property, patiently awaiting the arrival of a new batch of ducklings. His missus disappeared about a week ago to sit on her nest.
We’re already enjoying eight new goslings! It is the same pair of geese who return every Spring to their home here at Foxfield Woods. They are very comfortable here with us. Actually, we should say that we are happy to be living in their forest. Their ancestors have been calling this home for a long time. We love Springtime at the lake.
The Spanish translation of Estas asustado is going to press. It will be available on Amazon very soon. I will keep you posted. I am working on the Kindle version today. Richard Faith’s next children’s picture book is called The Lion That Meowed. I illustrate the Old Doc Turtle series. Here’s a sample:
Well, I must be going. We’ve got to get ready for Saturday night. But fear not, the next movie is being edited and will soon be at our studio for post production. An Arrow Shot Through Time is remarkable. I can’t wait to start the score. I was able to be out on location for much of the shoot, and I have seen the early scene edits. It will be epic.
I will try hard to keep you informed. I SO appreciate your interest in my work. And please write to me. I want to know all about how you are doing and what you and your families are up to. todd@toddhobin.com
