It has been entirely too long since my last entry. The end of the Fall semester and a whole bunch of concerts kept me way too busy. Too busy doing to write about what I’ve been up to. At my age, not a bad thing, I suppose. It keeps me out of trouble.

Here’s a quick look at some of my recent projects. And by the way, I still love to hear from you. We’re traveling through these times together. Please write to me about your families, friends, lives, and memories. todd@toddhobin.com

Todd & the Band - Letizia and I went out and played a couple of shows this month. We had a blast. But the big news is our upcoming gig with the band on January 24th at the Steeple Coffee House in Fayetteville, NY. Read all about it here: https://www.toddhobin.com/news/2025/12/20/steeple-coffee-house-show. Here is the Press Release: https://www.toddhobin.com/news/2025/12/20/the-next-band-concert

The Artist & the Astronaut - Our Soundtrack Album was released worldwide earlier this month. Give it a listen on one of these fine streaming platforms: https://found.ee/toddhobinband_theartisttheastronautsoundtrack

Le Moyne College: My private studio of guitar students is impressive. All four of the guitarists in the Le Moyne Rock Ensemble are my private students. Their Winter Concert and their recitals all rocked. Due to budget cuts, the number of students that I will be working with will be cut in half for the Spring Semester. Sadly, the first thing to go is always the Arts, right? In dark times, it seems to me that the worst thing you can do is go darker. I’m not giving up. I will return in January.

Our relationship with Le Moyne goes back a very long time. Hobin Studios helps to produce a long list of concerts for the college. Our band teamed up with the Le Moyne College Jazzuits to entertain at this year’s Founder’s Day event. The Salt City Voices (a quartet from the group) released another wonderful album last week, recorded at our studios. And also produced this year’s recording for the Le Moyne Christmas video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bBKZfLcyOw

Old Doc Turtle - Today, I will be meeting with the author of these delightful Children’s Books, Richard Faith. I just completed page 20 of the latest book in the series. I’ll drop it in down below. We need to take a look at what page 21 will look like and plan out the rest of the story art. I’m dying to get back into some large fine art pieces. I have sketched out a few that I am pretty excited about. Fine Art takes time. Something that’s in short supply lately.

My Family - This time of year, the missus and I focus as much attention as we can on our rather large extended family. Yesterday we had a huge Christmas celebration with the Masucci clan. This is something we do every year. It is always fun with lots of food. Italian families know how to eat. We’ve already visited our North Carolina family. Our grandson is very excited about Santa Claus. He’s four and very energetic. His name for me is PaBa. I am still recovering from his daily “workouts” with me.

This week, we will visit our kids and grandkids in Albany and in Rochester. All of our B’ville children are this week, too. The Liverpool crowd will be next.

Many of you have been following our tiny dancer, Lyra. On Saturday, we watched her dance in the CNY Ballet presentation of the Nutcracker. A mix of professional dancers and the best students in the area. It was magnificent and a real holiday treat. Speaking of nuts. They don’t fall far from the tree. All of my kids and grandkids love the arts, and most are involved in the industry.

The old man is feeling blessed. And from my family to yours, we send our blessings for a joyous Holiday Season.
