This week and next

My “lecture” at the Friends of History in Fulton, NY this past Friday night was a whole lot bigger than anyone could have imagined. We filled up the banquet room at the Tavern at the Lock to capacity. I am very glad to report that it was their biggest fundraiser to date. All of the funds go to keep the Pratt House Museum open and flourishing. Huge shout out to my dear friends Angela and Ed Bernat for making this happen, and to my pal, Joe Cortini for showing up with a mic stand in the nick of time. Once again, a drummer saves the day.

After the show, we joined our hosts Sue and Don Ryan, owners of the Tavern at the Lock, for a little brew and good conversation. The food and their hospitality is first rate. It’s a great place for a concert, meeting… and I can’t wait for this summer. We’ll be spending some time on their deck, by the scenic Oswego River right by the falls.

This coming weekend is a busy one for me. At Le Moyne we are hosting the Le Moyne Jazzuits Vocal Jazz Fest. This is something Carol Jacobe has been doing for a number of years. Here is the poster for the event:

That very same evening, as luck would have it, I am scheduled to do my once a semester gig at the plaza. The game plan is always to bring a bunch of my students over to the Le Moyne College Plaza to join me in an evening of merriment. This year… most of them will be at Jazz Fest across the street. So you will be stuck with me going it solo and eating Cam’s pizza. I start at 5:00 PM Saturday the 10th. I’ll wrap up at around 8 PM so I can head back over at the James Commons to be with the Jazzuits and some of the most talented High School and College singers in CNY.

I would love to have you join me at the plaza. It might be lonely, but we’ll have a casual and relaxed, good time. It’s FREE thanks to the CNY Jazz Arts Foundation.

November 16th, Friday night at the May Memorial – I’ll be playing this guitar:

And singing a brand new song, along with a few other songwriters. For more info, check this link:

I am happy to report that, although I am way too busy, I do continue to improve after that nasty stroke.

Be well, my dear friends. See you soon.

Todd
