The Audie Award Finalists have been announced.

Fairest is a finalist in two categories!!

The score and songs were written by Todd.  Fairest, which was his directorial debut, was also named a Book List Editor's Choice for 2008.   It's a very exciting time for the Full Cast Audio family.  The prestigious awards (Audies are the "Grammy Awards" for the Audio Book industry) will be presented in New York City at the end of May.  We'll keep you posted.

AND Publisher's Weekly just released the first review for Red Planet Robert A. Heinlein, read by William Dufris and a full cast. Full Cast Audio, unabridged, six CDs, 7 hrs., $45 ISBN 978-1-934180-26-6

The score was written and performed by Todd at Hobin Studios.  For those of you who enjoyed "Bob the Builder", you'll be happy to know that Bill Dufris was the voice of good ole Bob.  He directed and narrated the book for us.  Brilliant guy and easy to work with.

PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY REVIEW:

Heinlein’s 1949 novel of a space frontier culture is brought to life with Full Cast Audio’s signature quality of talented voices and an evocative musical score. The colonists live a fragile existence on Mars as they try to survive without offending the native Martians—while satisfying the Corporation’s hunger for profit. But greed throws this delicate balance off, and young Jim and Frank with their Martian friend, Willis, must negotiate their way among the opposing groups in order to keep their families safe and the Martians content. The masterful William Dufris, director and main narrator, pulls listeners into the stories with his deep, smooth voice. The energetic cast provides colorful voices for the quirky characters without overacting. The musical score helps with transitions as well as setting the mood and declaratively ending a scene. A Del Rey paperback. (Feb.)

MORE great reviews for HOBIN STUDIOS clients:  Audiophile Audition lavishes praise on the latest Lewtak Organ CD, who said:

I like it a lot, and even the carefully marked distance between the organ and the microphones is well thought out and tested, giving us a realistic feeling for the space and the organ, with clean, immaculate sound.

-- Audiophile Audition

Audiophile Audition Magazine reviewed a Hi-Fidelity recording done by Hobin Studios on location.  High praise for the recording techniques.  Corey Hobin engineered the remote sessions, which took place after midnight to keep extraneous road noise to a minimum.  Congratulations to an international cast and crew who made this amazing album possible.  Check out the review here: Audiophile Audition Review
